Doriana Mendes

Brazilian singer, actress and dancer. Holds a Degree in Singing and a Masters in Music at Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO). She was granted scholarships by FAPERJ and CNPq, developing research on contemporary performance. She studied under Eliane Sampaio, Carol McDavit, among others. She has performed in diverse cities of Germany, France, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina and almost every Brazilian state. Her international debut was in Darmstadt's Opera Theatre. She was awarded 1st prize at 1999 Souza Lima Contest with Duo Laguna (soprano & guitar) as well as the 2002 Carlos Gomes Award, as a soloist of Caliope vocal ensemble. She acted in successful productions such as the soap opera Family Ties (Laços de Família by Manoel Carlos, Rede Globo) and in the musical Company (Stephen Sondheim, version of Charles Möeller & Claudio Botelho). She did backing vocals for Sergio Dias Baptista (Os Mutantes), Tim Maia and Jorge Benjor. She is dubbing singer in Disney and Dreamworks films. Her discography has twenty CDs released by labels like Warner Music, SonyBMG, Music Theatre International, Biscoito Fino, Som Livre, Pianíssimo, Rádio MEC and CCBB, going from Brazilian colonial works, children's music, rap and rock, to opera and electroacoustic music. Bryan Holmes

Chilean music composer, producer and researcher based in Rio de Janeiro since 2006. He holds a Degree in Music at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV, Chile) and a Masters at Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO, Brazil). Among many others, he studied composition under Eduardo Cáceres in Chile and in Brazil he had Vania Dantas Leite as his thesis advisor, doing research about spectromorphology in instrumental music, aided by CAPES and FAPERJ scholarships. His works have been awarded in both national and international contests and performed in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, France, Peru and Spain. His scores are published by Periferia Music (Barcelona & Moscow) and his recordings have been released by international independent labels and netlabels. He has conducted ensembles in prestigious venues in Chile and Brazil, also performs on diverse instruments and does live electronics, having improvised together with fine musicians from many countries. He is Music Technology department chair at Brazilian Conservatorium of Music (CBM), where he also lectures in composition, orchestration and electroacoustic music. BryanHolmes.net
